German govt funds broadband expansion by EUR 10-12 bln, aims for full gigabit coverage by 2025

The German government is providing EUR 10-12 billion for broadband expansion in the current legislative period, according to a reply from the government to a parliamentary inquiry by the liberal party FDP. So far, EUR 6.5 billion has been approved for broadband expansion projects. Funds to support the expansion are available through the Digital Infrastructure fund.
