German govt plans voluntary app to track Covid-19 infections based on decentralised software architecture

The German government plans to develop a tracing app for voluntary use to warn users if they have been in contact with people infected with Covid-19. The government said that the app complies with data protection laws and guarantees a high level of IT security. In the event of an infection, a warning notification is sent from the infected person without identifying them, to people with whom they have been in contact.
