German govt rejects proposal for slow internet compensation

The German government has rejected a suggestion from the Green party to develop a compensation mechanism for internet subscribers who don't receive the speeds promised by ISPs. Green MP Tabea Roessner had asked the government to look at introducing flat-rate compensation, similar to what's offered to plane and train passengers for delayed travel, but the government rejected the idea, Der Spiegel reports.
