German govt to invest in preventing wiretapping - report

The German government plans to invest at least EUR 250 million over the next three years in developing an internal communications network that is invulnerable to eavesdropping, Der Spiegal magazine reported. It cited a background document from the Federal Interior Ministry. Apart from the government network, there are about 40 other grids in Germany that exchange information between public authorities, and most of these are in private hands.
