German housing industry org warns of high costs for consumers through Vodafone takeover of Unitymedia

The German housing industry association (GdW) has warned that the acquisition of Unitymedia by Vodafone could lead to a lack of competition and higher costs in TV, internet and telephony services for customers. The remedies offered by Vodafone ignore the concerns of the European Commission on fibre, internet, telephony and TV signal delivered to apartment blocks, and are economically worthless, said Axel Gedaschko, president of the housing industry association GdW.
