German electrical and electronics industry group ZVEI is calling on the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) to allow its members to set up private 5G networks in their plants. A ZVEI spokesperson told German publication 'Wirtschaftswoche' that its members do not want to be dependent on the  infrastructure of a particular network operator for 5G networks in their plants, which will be the basis for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and the Industry 4.0 digitisation of industrial production.
