German Interior Minister wants Information Security Office to have more power over platforms like Facebook

German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) is calling for more power to be granted to the Federal Office for Information and Security (BSI) for matters such as dealing with platforms such as Facebook, Onlinekosten.de reports. The BSI needs to have the option to oblige such platforms to delete content. It should not act as a "supplicant" towards Facebook and other platforms in such cases, Seehofer said.
