German IT security agency BSI calls for simpler EU data protection regulation

Germany's IT security agency BSI has called on EU institutions to take on board the criticism and reduce the bureaucratization of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in order to refine the law without weakening the goal of protecting data. Fully automated processes, which are part of people's lives, must be comprehensible to people and highly transparent, said the BSI Federal Commissioner Ulrich Kelber.
