German lawmakers, cartel authorities pile pressure on Facebook over data breach

German lawmakers have continued to pile pressure on Facebook in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal as the number of users whose data was mishandled in the scandal continues to increase. German Federal Justice Minister Katarina Barley criticized Facebook as being a "network of opacity" that sacrifices ethical convictions for commercial interests and gambled away users' trust, reported Heise Online. She said the investigation into Facebook needs to go beyond the case of Cambridge Analytica and determine whether other app developers extensively misused user and contact data. Facebook
