German licensing watchdog orders Tele Columbus to end unequal treatment of broadcasters

Monday 26 February 2018 | 15:51 CET | News
The German Commission on Licensing and Supervision (ZAK) has called on Tele Columbus to put an end to its discriminatory pricing practices and treat all private free-to-air TV providers equally after an investigation into Tele Columbus's feed contracts. The ZAK found that Tele Columbus charges only certain free-to-air providers a fee to carry their programming while disseminating others free of charge and said this was an example of "unjustified unequal treatment" that violated Germany's Interstate Broadcasting Treaty.
