German major mobile operators continue LTE expansion 10 years on

Tuesday 19 May 2020 | 10:28 CET | News
The three major German mobile operators Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica, plan to continue to expand the LTE network, ten years after the introduction of 4G, the Deutsche Presse Agentur reports. Vodafone Germany now operates more than 21,000 LTE stations. In 2019 alone, it built 8,000 new LTE sites as well as 3,000 more in 2020, and another 6,000 will follow by the end of the financial year, the CEO added. However, Ametsreiter admitted that the network in Germany is "not yet perfect" although it has "already massively improved".
