German market sees FTTP footprint grow to over 6 million premises passed

The penetration of fibre-optic connections into buildings and homes in Germany has risen to 13.5 percent of premises, according to the latest market analysis from the association of alternative operators Breko. This corresponds to 6.1 million premises passed with fibre, up by 1.1 million from a year earlier. The majority of the connections (4.9 mln) are built by alternative network operators, meaning the competitors of Deutsche Telekom.
