German ministry expands tender for local 5G projects

The German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has expanded the competition for up to EUR 4 million in funding for 5G projects for 48 consortia of municipalities and districts. Ten projects have been already selected to put in place ideas with financial support of the federal government. In total, 71 cities and regions across Germany have developed innovative concepts for 5G applications in cooperation with companies and research institutes as part of the competition.
