German ministry releases guidelines for social media takedown law

Germany's Federal Ministry of Justice has released a set of guidelines that lays out sanctioning procedures and determines the level of fines that can be imposed under the country's social network enforcement act (NetzDG) penalizing hate speech and other crimes, reported Heise Online. Germany's Federal Office for Justice (BfJ) can now impose fines against companies that violate the NetzDG, said Heise.
