German mobile service providers to operate cell broadcast warning systems from next year

The German government has approved the Mobile Telecommunications Warning Ordinance to introduce the cell broadcast system from next year. Cell broadcast enables a large number of people to be warned simultaneously and quickly using a push message on mobile phones in case of an emergency. The amendments to the rules enter force in December.
