German monopoly commission sees benefits in Vodafone-Unitymedia deal - report

Still, Wambach said the merger could create problems for Germany's cable market and in the transmission of TV programmes via cable. The respective competition authorities will now have to assess how heavily the merger's benefits for the broadband market will outweigh its "potential disadvantages" for the cable market when deciding whether to approve the transaction, said Wambach.
