German parliamentary groups demand clarity on Huawei after 5G ban in UK

The CDU member of parliament and transatlantic coordinator of the federal government, Peter Beyer, said that Germany must not rely on Huawei, a company that is dependent on the Chinese Communist Party, WirtchaftsWoche reports. This is the latest sign that the debate on whether to exclude Huawei from the firms that will build 5G networks has reignited in Germany, after the UK decided to ban the Chinese supplier from 5G networks due to national security risks.
