German privacy officials issue demands to social networks after Cambridge Analytica data leaks

Germany's Conference of State and Federal Data Protection Authorities has issued a list of demands for Facebook and other social networks to comply with following the "obvious, massive violations" of individuals' privacy rights that were uncovered in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Privacy officials said the Cambridge Analytica scandal was likely only the tip of the iceberg of data misuse, noting that data from potentially every Facebook user has been mishandled given that "tens of thousands" of apps use Facebook's log-in system alone.
