German privacy regulator opens investigation into Facebook

The German data protection commissioner for the state of Hamburg has opened up non-compliance procedures against Facebook accusing the company of mishandling user data through the Cambridge Analytica data leaks, reported German business daily Handelsblatt. The social network could be handed down a fine of up to EUR 300,000 as a result of the investigation, they said.
