German prosecutors weigh investigation into Vodafone, DeTe over obstruction of justice

German prosecutors are considering opening up an investigation into Vodafone Germany and Deutsche Telekom over alleged attempts to obstruct justice, reported German business publication WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo). Both companies refused to hand over mobile data on suspects in two separate murder cases dating from September 2017 and January 2018, even though a district court had issued rulings requesting this data from the operators, senior public prosecutor Christopher Imig told WiWo.
