German regulator speed measurement tool under fire from ISPs

The German regulator's internet speed measurement tool has come under criticism for technical failures following a meeting in late July with industry groups on the software's design. Peering GmbH, operator of the ECIX exchanges in Germany, said the tool relies on connections to a limited number of servers, which may distort the results for some providers, while the cable industry association Anga found numerous other technical shortcomings and called for a full certification of the tool.
