German Transport Ministry rolls out free Wi-Fi at highway rest stops

Germany's Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has activated free Wi-Fi networks at six unstaffed rest stops along portions of the A9 highway running between Greding and Munich in the state of Bavaria as part of a pilot project to equip Germany's highways with new technological services. The rest stops now offering drivers and travelers a free internet connection are Gelbelsee Ost and Gelbelsee West stops south of Greding, Baarer Weiher Ost, Baarer Weiher West, and the Rohrbach Ost and Rohrbach West stations to the south of Ingolstadt.
