German watchdog wants user data volume considered in mergers

The German cartel authority is demanding that the vast amounts of consumer data held by big internet companies should be scrutinised in merger probes, because they have a big impact on competition, president of the watchdog, Andreas Mundt, told Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
