Some 56 percent of people in Germany use free streaming services such as MyVideo or YouTube to watch films and series online, according to a survey conducted by Emnid on behalf of TV guide Hoerzu. Young users between 16 and 24 years (84%) and between 25 and 34 years (70%) are particularly active. It found 42 percent of all respondents do not use free VoD services, rising to 60 percent among people aged 55 and older. More than two thirds (69%) of those asked do not use any fee-based streaming services, and 28 percent do so sometimes or regularly.
