Germany to do away with mobile coverage gaps by 2018

German transport minister Alexander Dobrindt expects there to be no more gaps in mobile coverage by 2018, he said in an interview with newspaper Bild am Sonntag, according to Manager Magazin's online edition. The successful bidder in the 27 May frequency auction must give an undertaking to invest in expanding high-performance networks and to provide motorways, railways and rural regions with fast mobile internet service in three years' time, he said.
