Germany's RTL group to expand range of subtitled programming in Jan

Wednesday 6 December 2017 | 14:59 CET | News

German media group RTL Deutschland will expand its offering of subtitled programmes in January. RTL Deutschland said it will broadcast on average 10 hours of programming with subtitles per day beginning 02 January 2018, including at least 4 formats during primetime. Among the programmes to be subtitled on RTL include the soap operas “Alles was zaehlt” and “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten”, reality shows like “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!”, “Games of Thrones”, football games including World Cup qualification rounds aired on RTL and Nitro and select films shown on RTL, Nitro, Vox and Super RTL throughout the week.

RTL’s subtitled programmes can be received via nearly all digital transmission channels including DVB-S/S2, DVB-C or DVB-T2 HD provided households have set up the “DVB-Subtitle” standard on their television.
