Globacom offers free 5 GB data bonus to customers activating eSIMs
Globacom has introduced an e-SIM service and is offering an instant 5 GB data bonus to customers who activate the embedded SIM and purchase a data plan of at least NGN 1,500. It said customers on any network can benefit from "SIM-less" freedom with the Glo e-SIM as an additional SIM in their phone. The e-SIM lets users switch between different numbers without needing to swap physical SIM cards, making it particularly convenient for frequent travellers and professionals on the move.

Nigerian operator Globacom introduced a new device protection service, offering subscribers insurance to protect their mobile devices for a small premium. In partnership with Cubecover, this service allows new and existing Glo customers to protect their mobile devices against common screen and water damage. The premiums start at NGN 50 per day, NGN 300 weekly and NGN 600 monthly.

Globacom has introduced three digital services to entertain, educate and reward its subscribers, called Animation World Promo, Sport Brain and Treasure Spin. On a daily basis, 20 participants will win NGN 1,000 cash each, along with other rewards including NGN 1,000 worth of airtime and 3.5 GB of data. Weekly, five lucky winners will receive NGN 100,000 each, while a grand monthly winner will be rewarded with NGN 1 million.

Globacom partners with Huawei and ICT ministry for digital village scheme

Globacom has partnered with the ICT ministry and Huawei Nigerian Enterprises to provide digital access to 7,000 remote communities. A pilot project has begun in Isuanin Kura in the Ibwa 2 community, Gwagwalada, on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. It will deliver 2G/3G/4G services, free public Wi-Fi access, digital healthcare and remote education capabilities to over 12,000 residents in the community.

Nigerian operator Globacom has declared growth in the number of enterprise clients using its Bulk Data services, which lets them give data to customers. A certain amount of data can be used for the navigation of a mobile application or website free of charge to the customers using that app or site. The enterprise customer pays for the service.

Globacom offers 200% data bonus on new MiFi purchases

Globacom is running a 200 percent data value back offer with every MiFi device bought at Gloworld outlets across Nigeria and registered with new Glo SIMs. The MiFi devices cost NGN 14,999 and customers will receive 30 GB upon activation valid for 30 days, and a 100 percent data bonus for all data plan purchases for four months. The also receive 2.5 GB bonus data every month for twelve months upon the purchase of a data plan of NGN 2,500 or above.

Globacom offers 15% bonus airtime with electronic top-ups

Nigerian operator Globacom has begun a promotion offering 15 percent bonus airtime on every electronic balance top-up purchase. The deal began on 13 February and segmented Glo customers who recharge by NGN 200 or more via E-top-up can use the bonus airtime to make calls to any network. The validity of the bonus airtime is seven days and it cannot be rolled over.
