Friday 30 April 2021 | 11:00 CET | News
Worldwide shipments of 5G smartphones jumped 458 percent year on year to a record 133.9 million in the first quarter of 2021 from 24.0 million units a year earlier due mainly to huge demand in China coupled with Apple's launch of the 5G iPhone and lower priced Android models. The latest data from Strategy Analytics revealed that Apple shipped a record 40.4 million 5G iPhones in the January to March period, securing a 30 percent share of the 5G smartphone market share globally thanks above all to strong sales in China, Europe and the US.
