Wednesday 9 June 2021 | 15:55 CET | News
Worldwide cellular IoT module shipments increased by 14 percent year on year to a record level of 303 million in 2020, according to data from Berg Insight. However, annual revenues grew slower at 8 percent year on year to USD 3.4 billion due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on demand in several major application areas in 2020, while the global chipset shortage is set to have an even broader impact on the market in 2021. Looking ahead to 2025, the researcher predicted that IoT module shipments will grow at a CAGR of 15.8 percent to reach 629.6 million units.
