Global IT spend to fall over 5% on Covid-19 impact in 2020 - IDC

Tuesday 5 May 2020 | 11:13 CET | News
Worldwide IT spending is now expected to fall 5.1 percent in constant currency terms this year compared to last year's growth of 4.8 percent due above all to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, according to downwardly revised data from the International Data Corporation (IDC). In January the researcher predicted a 5.1 percent rise in IT spending in 2020 but it now expects a 5.1 percent decline to USD 2.25 trillion as the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to drive down some categories of tech spending and short-term business investments.
