Global smartphone market returns to growth in Q2 - Canalys

The worldwide smartphone market grew modestly in Q2, after a disappointing first quarter, according to estimates from Canalys. Global shipments grew annually and were flat versus Q1, to over 330 million units in Q2. Samsung lead the market with estimated shipments around 80 million units, and Canalys expects Samsung also improved its average selling price following a successful launch of the Galaxy S7 and less focus on the low end of its portfolio.
