Global tablet market fell 5% in Q1

The global tablet market fell in the first quarter by 5 percent year-on-year, with Apple, Huawei, Amazon and Microsoft finding ways to gain market share and other companies struggling behind, according to the latest report by Strategy Analytics. Amazon lifted shipments by 21 percent, with Huawei shipments advancing 8 percent, boosted by sales in EMEA and China. The study noted that there were signs of stabilisation among some vendors, including Samsung, HP, Dell and TCL-Alcatel, but that competition was fierce.
