Global tablet shipments to drop over 8% in Q2

Global shipments of tablet PCs are estimated to decline 8.7 percent year-on-year in Q2, traditionally still a low season, writes DigiTimes.com citing Digitimes Research estimates. Worldwide tablet shipments decreased 12.9 percent sequentially but grew 13.8 percent on year to 37.15 million units in Q1. Q1 shipments of white-box tablets, mostly 7-inch and 8-inch models, decreased year-on-year by 6.7 percent amid growing demand for larger devices, researchers said.
