Global wearable devices market to reach 48 mln units in 2014

Tuesday 27 May 2014 | 09:12 CET | News
The global wearable devices market is expected to reach 48 million units this year and 91 million in 2015, according to a study by DisplaySearch. The study includes wearable devices such as activity trackers, notifier bands, smart watches and head-mounted displays. However, the market is expected to experience a slowdown after 2015, as consumers rebound from the initial hype. According to DisplaySearch, the arrival of Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and other large, manufacturers to the wearables market should bring prices and margins down.
