Google abandons cloud services project in China - report

Google has scrapped plans to launch a cloud service in China and other regions due to geopolitical divisions and Covid-19 concerns, according to two unnamed employees cited by Bloomberg. The project was called "Isolated Region" and was intended to appease leaders in countries that wanted to control data within their borders, said the sources.
