Google accused of evading EUR 227 mln Italian tax - report

Italy's financial police have accused Google of evading EUR 227 million in taxes between 2009 and 2013, according to unnamed investigative sources cited by Reuters. Prosecutors in the northern Italian city of Milan confirmed last year that officials had initiated discussions with Google representatives relating to its earnings in Italy, including checks on tax payments. Google's latest figures indicate the company paid EUR 2.2 million of tax in Italy in 2014 on revenues of EUR 54.4 million. However, Italy's communications authority AgCom estimates Google's Italian revenues at around ten times
