Google acquires Gecko Design for future X lab projects

Google is to acquire the product-design company Gecko Design, according to Bloomberg. Although no details of the agreement were disclosed, Gecko confirmed on its website that it will be absorbed into Google's X lab, the department responsible for projects such as Google Glass. "We are very excited and honoured to join Google and work on a variety of cutting edge projects," said Gecko president Jacques Gagne in a blog post. Gecko Design has already worked with a number of tech companies, including wearable-device provider Fitbit, Hewlett Packard, Logitech and Slingmedia. X lab is the division
