Google adds built-in Cast functionality to Chrome browser

Tuesday 30 August 2016 | 11:48 CET | News
Google has announced that its Chrome browser now comes with full Chromecast functionality, allowing users to stream content such as photos, music and video from laptops and desktops directly to their TV screens and speakers. The newly built-in feature replaces the browser's Google Cast extension, available since July 2013. Users with devices such as Chromecast or Chromecast Audio or Cast-enabled TVs and speakers can now simply click on websites with the Cast icon to view content on their TV or listen to music on their speakers.
