Google backs out of US military contract - report

Google will not be renewing a contract to provide artificial intelligence for drone footage analysis to the US Defence Department following an employee and public backlash, according to unnamed sources cited by Gizmodo. Under the terms of the so-called Project Maven, Google was working with the military to analyse sensitive drone footage with artificial intelligence software.
