Google Cloud cuts own revenue share on third-party software sales - report

The Google Cloud Platform is reducing its percentage revenue for third-party software on its marketplace to 3 percent from 20 percent, CNBC reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The report noted that this revenue share matches Microsoft's. The change is expected to attract more cloud business, bringing in more independent software makers to sell their products on Google's cloud. This could help the company reduce its dependence on advertising revenue.
