Google drops plans for start-up campus in Berlin

Google is abandoning a plan to set up a campus for tech start-ups in Berlin, after opposition from locals who said the move could contribute to fast-rising rents in the city. The company announced plans to expand in the Kreuzberg neighbourhood nearly two years ago, but has now decided to give the 3,000-m2 workspace to two local nonprofits, the Wall Street Journal reports.
