Google files lawsuit against automatic sharing of YouTube data with German police

Google has applied for a court injunction at the Cologne Administrative Court exempting its subsidiary YouTube from new provisions under Germany's Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG). The company is concerned that a requirement to hand over potential evidence in criminal cases without informing the suspect may be a violation of fundamental rights and wants a judicial review of the legislation.
