Google hires US govt advisor to help fight EU allegations

Google has hired Caroline Atkinson, a former senior advisor to President Barack Obama, to lead its global public policy team, the New York Times reported. Her most pressing task will be to temper concerns by antitrust enforcement officials in the European Union, which has accused the company of abusing its dominance in web search. Google has rejected the allegations.
