Google improves user data transparency and control ahead of GDPR

Google has set out the details of its updated privacy policy and explained the reasons behind its collection of user data ahead of entry into force of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25 May. In a blog post the company said it had spent 18 months working on its compliance efforts, above all with a view to improving user transparency via new tools to manage data.
