Google, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm form CBRS Alliance

An alliance to explore wireless broadband services in the 3.5 GHz band has formed in the US, under the name the Citizens Radio Broadband Service (CBRS). The founding members are Federated Wireless, Google, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm and Ruckus Wireless. The FCC adopted rules in April for shared used of the band for broadband services, and several companies such as Google have already sought licences to test services. Around 150 MHz of spectrum (3550-3700 MHz) are available for commercial use. The CBRS Alliance said it aims to build a robust group of industry participants and make shared spectrum
