Google launches lightweight Go mobile search app in sub-Saharan Africa

Google has launched a lightweight search application aimed at emerging markets, called Google Go. It has been brought out in 26 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, and is available for download immediately. The app  address the emerging market challenges of weak data connectivity, high data costs and low RAM and storage space on entry-level devices. It uses less than 5 MB of storage on Android smartphones.
