Google lends support to EU digital single market

Thursday 11 June 2015 | 14:15 CET | News
Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt has given his company's backing to the European Commission's target of creating a digital single market throughout the 28 member states of the European Union. "To succeed globally, Europe needs a single digital market," said Schmidt at the NOAH tech conference in Berlin, according to the Wall Street Journal. Google's executive chairman went on to describe the current patchwork of local privacy, copyright and intellectual property laws as "crazy", adding that "you can't do business that way."
