Google, Motorola ordered to hand over Android info to Apple

Google and Motorola Mobility were ordered by the US judge presiding over an Apple patent lawsuit to turn over information about the development of Google's Android operating system, Bloomberg reports. They must also give Apple information about Google's pending USD 12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola, US Circuit Judge Richard A. Posner in Chicago ruled. Apple filed the suit in 2010 against Motorola and requested the information last week. Motorola has countersued. Posner has scheduled back-to-back trials before separate juries starting 11 June. The first will address six Apple patents, and the second will cover three Motorola patents. Motorola Mobility opposed Apple's request, arguing that Google isn't a party to the lawsuit. The companies declined to comment on the ruling.
