Google mulls shutting down Bermuda subsidiary - report

Google is considering shutting down its subsidiary in Bermuda to focus on its division in Ireland, where a 12.5 percent corporate tax remains very competitive, reports France's Le Monde without citing its sources. The Irish government's recent decision to end the so-called "Double Irish" tax loophole by 2020 for companies already based there, would strengthen voices at Google that are supporting the change, including that of CFO Patrick Pichette. The possibility of shutting down Bermuda operations is being debated at board level, according to the newspaper. The company would not comment on
