Google negotiating EUR 150 mln Italian tax deal - report

Thursday 7 January 2016 | 10:34 CET | News
Google's Italian subsidiary is negotiating a deal with Italian tax authorities to settle an investigation that accuses the US company of evading around EUR 1 billion in taxes, according to unnamed sources cited by La Repubblica. Prosecutors in the northern Italian city of Milan confirmed in February that officials had initiated discussions with Google representatives relating to its earnings in Italy from 2008 to 2013, including checks on tax payments. The sources suggest a deal could be reached by the end of January, with Google agreeing to pay around EUR 150 million to settle the dispute.
